The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great choice if you're seeking a robot vacuum and mop that's priced in the middle. It's got a fantastic mopping capability, but it lacks some of the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
During testing it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats out of medium-pile carpets. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to map out your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the top-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as a dirt compartment that is integrated into the base of charging. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest schedules that are automatic to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.
It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the touch of one button. You can choose an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that your entire home is cleaned thoroughly.
This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and sucks large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot claims it will get better with the next models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common however we found it to be only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with a superior filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. We think it's a nice claim, but not enough to justify a premium price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to remember the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. It can then clean your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundary markers so that the robot knows what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on more expensive models. And its mopping system is even better as its spinning pads clean your floors better than an ordinary pad that vibrates.
The only drawback is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a big deal when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's tank for dust is also bigger than those on many of its competitors and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.
For the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to scrub tough dirt from my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less abrasive than the more powerful ones, generate minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without distraction. If it comes across a wall or piece of furniture it gently bumps into it before moving forward.
The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that automatically transfers physical garbage into the hidden bin and also cleans and drys the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is adept at alerting you when something needs attention, like the clean water tank running low or a scheduled vacuuming session having been canceled because of a full dust bin.
You can also create or merge rooms to alter the way Q Revo handles your home. This feature is useful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home, or in the event that you have to regularly clear out clutter such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, removing debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I suggest drying them with a towel before sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with a powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, plus the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough staining. It also has a self-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for use again. It also features a new sensor system that can better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture and other objects.
The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet in height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it charges faster and can handle a full cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet on one charge. And it has a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty it when needed.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that is functional even when you're at home. It also comes with more mopping options and an intelligent routing feature that allows you to clean certain rooms or areas of your home instead just following a set path.
The X2 best robot vacuum for carpet Omni is the most effective mopping robot. Its mop pads that rotate scrub away tough stains, and its motor generates a lot of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it senses a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as powerful as the ones we've seen on a consumer-grade robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a top-quality model that offers a number of features that aren't typically found on robots in this price range. It can create detailed floor maps and identify different types of flooring. It's also among the few robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. While these features are great however, they also make the L10s Ultra more in the category of luxury and could mean it's slightly more expensive than the average homeowner need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It's tall and slim with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper that helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage while moving around the house. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane, which help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the screen, you'll find one button that basically acts as an on/off switch. Clicking this will turn on the vacuum, and clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The circular menu at the middle of the control panel lets you to select cleaning modes, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will open the settings menu in which you can alter the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to map out your house. This produces a precise floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop effectively and avoid getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and identify them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance which clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our hardwood floor test and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stain. Its mops also perform well, removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
